A Maritime Career Built on Experience

Joseph’s passion for the water and travel began at SUNY Maritime College, where he sailed aboard the Empire State VI to ports throughout Italy, Ireland, England, France, Greece, and Spain. Those experiences sparked a lifelong appreciation for both maritime operations and the cultures found in ports around the world.

After graduation, Joseph continued building his maritime career aboard gasoline tankers, tugs, and barges operating throughout the U.S. Gulf Coast and New York Harbor. Those years provided practical experience working commercial vessels in demanding environments while developing the discipline, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills that continue to serve him today.

From Commercial Shipping to Yacht Brokerage

Before entering yacht brokerage, Joseph built a successful shoreside career as a ship broker and vessel operations specialist for several major commodities trading companies. Managing vessel schedules, charter arrangements, and logistics gave him a unique understanding of negotiations, contracts, and the importance of keeping complex transactions moving forward.

Today, he brings that same organized and detail-oriented approach to yacht brokerage, helping buyers and sellers navigate every stage of the process with confidence.

Focused on the Leopard Catamaran Market

At Leopard Brokerage, Joseph works exclusively within the Leopard Catamaran market, helping clients evaluate models, ownership history, and opportunities across both sail and power catamarans.

He particularly enjoys working with first-time buyers and helping them understand the realities of ex-charter yacht ownership. Whether explaining ownership costs, survey findings, model differences, or the purchase process itself, Joseph focuses on making complex decisions easier to understand and evaluate.

Through Leopard Brokerage, his clients also benefit from access to model-specific insight and technical resources connected to Robertson & Caine, providing added confidence throughout the buying or selling process

South Florida-Based, Globally Connected

Based in Fort Lauderdale, Joseph works with buyers and sellers throughout South Florida, the Caribbean, the U.S. East Coast, and international markets. His background in both maritime operations and commercial transactions allows him to guide clients through each stage of the brokerage process while helping ensure transactions remain organized and on schedule.

He regularly assists clients navigating remote transactions, coordinating surveys, sea trials, documentation, and closing logistics for yacht purchases around the world.

As part of the broader Leopard Brokerage network, Joseph can also connect clients with listings, buyers, and industry resources throughout Leopard’s worldwide network.

Beyond the Brokerage

When he’s not helping clients buy and sell catamarans, Joseph enjoys two passions that couldn’t be more different from each other: DJ’ing and playing ice hockey. A lifelong hockey fan, he’s always quick to ask Canadian buyers where their NHL loyalties lie.

His approachable personality and genuine interest in people help make the yacht-buying process feel less intimidating and more enjoyable, especially for first-time owners entering the world of cruising.
